Two conferences: One in Dali region to review results of a 7-year project for conservation of indigenous cultures along the Silk Road, in particular, restoration of ancient city site of Weishan, center of trade and cultural interaction dating from 8th century; and one in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, to review work in one of the densest regions of cultural diversity in the world.
